Minor Disciplines

There are no more bloodlines or Clans with unique Disciplines. Instead, all non-sorcerous Disciplines outside the default 9 are associated with a Cult. Such abilities are sometimes considered little more than rumor. Vampires wishing to learn these rare, exotic powers must modify their behavior, their beliefs and even the very nature of their existence to be accepted as initiates. Even after being accepted, Minor Disciplines are always learned at out-of-Clan experience rates.
Furthermore, these Disciplines are not ‘natural’ to the vampiric condition like the default 10 are; they are capped at Level 5. Rumors say advanced powers based upon their practices exist as highly developed Combo Disciplines.
It may theoretically be possible to learn a Minor Discipline outside of the main cult associated with it, but this is extremely rare. On some occasions, a cult member has been tortured or manipulated into revealing the secrets of their powers to outsiders. In at least one case, the outsider then began their own cult, a heretical splinter of the original. Generally the original cult hates and seeks the destruction of such renegades. Even renegades still suffer the curse of a Minor Discipline; such things are innate parts of the Disciplines’ unnatural origin.
