Dragon-Blooded Charms

Birthing the Inner Storm or Untamed Growth of the Wild Dragon

Cost: -- (Essence dice in Limit/scene); Mins: Lore 5 or Medicine 5, Essence 5; Type: Permanent
  Keywords: Elemental
  Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Elemental Succor Method and Elemental Burst Technique or Jade Crucible Method

These seperate charms allow the Dragon-Blooded to raise their Essence one dot higher than their age would allow, as well as traits that can go higher with such raised Essence. Similarly, the Dragon-Blood may call upon charms normally beyond their essence. Sadly, while their experience allows this growth, only when they are surrounded by a very pure and wild expression of their Aspect element, may they access and use these traits. But all is not doom and gloom, for any anima flux from an anima banner of 11+ will count for such. Examples of each element follow.

  • Air: Wild storms of wind or lightning, blizzards, and the like.
  • Earth: Close quarters caves, rough tunnels, and the like
  • Fire: Forest fires, volcanoes, and the like.
  • Water: Depths of the oceans, whirlpools or whitewater rapids or waterfalls, and the like.
  • Wood: Verdant forests or jungles, deep underbrush, and the like.

There are two downsides to these techniques. First, it seems those who use it too often seem more mercurial than their companions, suddenly taking on sudden extremes in mood swings. In effect, every scene where this charm is used the user gains their enhanced Essence in dice of Limit. Second, the Dragon-Blood's anima banner loses a mote of strength for every action once this charm has been called upon. As such, a Dragon-Blood may choose to not access the greater strength afforded by these techniques.
