The Threefold Path

Many consider the cultivation and mastery of Chi the birthright of humanity, a skill great and worthy enough to stay the hands of the merciless Gods. While in many ways the arts used by the Empire are the same now as in its foundations, let it not be said that the Empire's magics are static. As different cultures are taken under the Light of Heaven, their lore is assimilated along with their culture, their magics broken down to their component parts and added to the greater discipline known as the Threefold Path.

Body, Mind and Soul are the gateways man has to understanding, shaping and mastering his own Chi and the Chi of the world around him.

Other Paths

Some people, of course, walk away from the demanding practice of chi cultivation - either from a desire for a quicker easier path, or simply for reasons personal or cultural. While the magics understood by the Empire have incorporated much from throughout the cultures of the world, other paths are considered darker and corrupt, either expressly forbidden or at the very least unfavored.

• //Sorcery// is a predominately male art that requires Castration (except in South America, where it is more fully understood), drawing on the corrupted Chi of the Body and turning it outward to gain Dominance over the World.
• A rare and coveted female art, requiring strictly regimented living and chastity, focuses on oneness with the world through purity. Practitioners are known for their all-seeing eyes and voices of power.
