Shadowy wings that grow from the back.
Death's Dark Wings are old, some say as old as death itself. They have burrowed into the shoulders of Stepping on Pale Shadows' own shadow. They are capable of flight just like Wings of the Raptor, but have a secondary function of hiding and bypassing of barriers.
By enfolding himself in the wings and stepping into a shadow, he enters a realm of grey known as the Umbra where he can see through shadows like one way glass, and may with a Perception + Abyss Mastery roll (difficulty of roughly 1/100 yards) attempt to navigate to another shadow to exit from. Still, this is not the safest of ways to travel, as there are things in the greyness drawn by movement within the normal stillness.
Similarly, by the shadow cast being disrupted by too much light, can the Abyssal be trapped there. And there are Charms which will allow even the shadow's barrier to be pierced and Stepping revealed.
