Abyssal Awareness Charms

Memories are but the ghosts of the mind, and even the world remembers that which occurs on it. Abyssals can call upon their connection as dead souls, and see that which has passed through history. These memories of the world become Obvious to the Abyssal's senses, allowing them to experience the sights, sounds, smells, and feelings of a time gone. With a successful Perception+Lore roll, the Abyssal can focus on one particular event. The difficulty is rated by how intense the emotions and sense of the memory is. For memories with little emotional backing, such as a person going about their normal daily routine, the difficulty is 5. For those of middling intensity, such as a first kiss, the difficulty is 3. And for those of the strongest sort, such as great violence, joy, fear, or horror, the difficulty is 1. These difficulties may increase with distractions of the present by an appropriate amount set by the ST. While Superior (Sense) Focus and Entropic Awakening of (Sense) normally only apply to Awareness rolls, they can aid in the Perception+Lore roll, only with the senses in question.

Abyssal Charm Cascade Errata (Awareness)

  • Superior (Sense) Focus (page 166) changes its duration to One Day.
  • Entropic Awakening of (Sense) (page 166) changes its duration to One Day. The Abyssal may activate Superior (Sense) Focus on the same action he activates this charm, without the use of a combo. The reverse is not true.
  • Piercing Gaze of the Unmaker (page 167) is not obvious if used on the same room or nearby area as the Abyssal.
