Abyssal Medicine Charms

Reclaiming the Forgotten

  Cost: 5m (+5m), 1wp, 1lhl; Mins: Medicine 5, Essence 3; Type: Simple (Dramatic Action)
  Keywords: Obvious, Touch
  Duration: Instant
  Prerequisite Charms: Pitiless Triage Judgement

There is much that has been lost to the Void, from limbs to sanity. By touching the wounds (or related locations) of a victim, the Abyssal begins to bleed from stigmata, the blood opening a gateway to the Well of the Void, on a journey that takes always one hour. There they will be challenged by a representative or aspect of the Void, and depending on their choice of "battle", be it pleading their case, a challenge of the mind, or deadly combat. This challenge should be equivalent in difficulty to that which is meant to be recovered. As a benefit, Abyss Mastery is always added to all rolls while they tread the waters of non-existance. While willpower and essence expenditures should be recorded, traits spent in the quest are restored upon awakening from their lacunal trance. There they either return the limb or similar item to its rightful place or have come back in defeat.

At Essence 4 with a rebuy, that which was immaterial such as sanity and memory may be also restored with a 5 mote surcharge. The mechanics are the same, except that the victim of the loss wakes knowing in their heart that the Abyssal was the force behind their recovery, and they form an intimacy to him based on their feelings about such. As long as the intimacy continues, they will never suffer that loss again.

As a note, this can recover only those things lost "forever" or taken into the Void. Ones traded to say demons or fae are not availible anymore unless they were destroyed. At least until Essence 5, when one realizes all things are eventually bound for the Void, where there is neither space nor time. The thing will disappear to the Void upon success where the Abyssal may carry it back.

Curse of Death Cheated

Still the Dissonance fades at a point a day at daybreak.

Necrophagic Cleansing

When one understands the ways of poison and plague, you learn how they are in some ways horribly similar. A plague might cause toxins in the body, and toxins make prepare the body for the disease to take root. But the Abyssal who learns these secrets may turn those very tools against those twin forces that bring suffering. By spending a surcharge of five motes and one lethal health level when using Black Heart's Venom, the Abyssal transmutes the nature of his blood and adds the Sickness keyword to his blood is turned into a predator that feeds on that which causes disease and poisoning. By poisoning a victim so, the person is cured within heartbeats... just so that they might suffer trial by the torment to come. About half an hour to hour from infection, the symptoms set in. Every hour, the victim must make a Stamina+Resistance roll at difficulty of 4 lest they take a bashing damage, though this never will take the victim into or past their Incapacitation health level. But they suffer a -5 internal penalty that stacks with any wound penalties, caused as severe sense of paranoia, doom, hallucinations, pain, and convulsions wrack the victim till they succeed at 4 Stamina+Resistance rolls or when they've failed 25 Stamina+Resistance rolls, whichever comes first.
