Lord of the Shadowed Lands
Cost: --; Mins: Occult 1, Essence 2; Type: Permanent Keywords: Mirror (Master of the Sunlit Realm) Duration: Permanent Prerequisite Charms: None
The Abyssal has a deep and abiding understanding of the nature of the world and how essence naturally flows through it. As such, they can make do with cheap knickknacks or less in the application of thaumaturgy, as long as they understand the lessons of the art in question. In effect, they lower the resources cost (both the resource and workspace costs) of any ritual by their degrees in the art, 1 for initiate, 2 for adept, 3 for master. This is always true and costs the Abyssal nothing.
The mirror of this charm functions the same in all ways.
Visionary Void Missionary
Cost: 5wp; Mins: Occult 5, Essence 5; Type: Reflexive Keywords: Combo-OK, Mirror (Glory to the Most High), Native, Obvious Duration: Indefinite Prerequisite Charms: Through Dead Eyes
In darkness born and darkness forged, the Abyssal Exalted have a bond with the end of all things. They are able to exploit this bond to destroy a limit within themselves for a time, grasping greater power to their chest, at the risk of drawing too close to Death and meeting a second and final end. This charm functions as to Glory to the Most High with three exceptions: First, the Abyssal may replace any amount of willpower in the cost with aggravated health levels of damage; Second, the charm lasts until the Abyssal decides to release it or is knocked unconscious or dying by damage; and Third, the Abyssal suffers 1 aggravated health level for each Dissonance gained, this particular damage can not be healed while this charm is active without reducing Dissonance to less than the aggravated damage suffered. The wounds that occur are constantly bleeding or pustulent (though other this is a purely cosmetic consideration) and take a form of ST choice. Note that converting damage to a lesser form is considered a type of healing for the purposes of this charm. Example: Silent Song has 3 Dissonance before activating Visionary Void Missionary with 5 willpower. He gains 4 dissonance over a week, causing 4 aggravated health levels. Until he has 3 or less Dissonance, none of the health levels caused will heal as long as this charm is active.
Evoking the Primal Response
Cost: 7m, 1wp; Mins: Occult 5, Essence 4; Type: Reflexive Keywords: Touch Duration: Instant Prerequisite Charms: Divinity-Banishing Contempt
This charm imbues a ghost with a touch of the Abyssal's own desire to be free from bonds and makes a ghost "thankful" for this gift. In short, a ghost becomes immune to all attempts to sorcerously or necromantically summon or bind them except from the last Abyssal to use this charm on said ghost. Furthermore, all attempts to convince or force the ghost to betray the Abyssal's trust are considered "unacceptable" and the ghost need not consider them.
But where this charm really shines is when an Abyssal uses it on a ghost they have previously ensouled with Hidden Soul Qipoth. Then the ghost can spend 2 willpower to call upon the mythic Avatar of the Abyssal's Passion. This gives them a bonus of +2 to Stamina and Charisma and a +3 to any attribute based on the nature of the Passion. Their attacks are lethal, they suffer no wound penalties, and are able to interact with the material and immaterial while in the Avatar form. But this has three downsides, for it can only be sustained for Essence + Willpower actions and the Abyssal knows when the Avatar is being used and can sense through it and use their charms freely, and the ghost has a halved mental defense of either sort against the Abyssal. Lastly, it inflicts a change of shape upon the ghost, giving them some obvious sign that can't be ignored under normal circumstances (For example, bloody hands that are constantly dripping gore, eyes and mouth that blaze with a mighty light, etc...).
Heart of My Soul
Cost: (+2m); Mins: Occult 5, Essence 5; Type: Permanent Keywords: None Duration: Permanent Prerequisite Charms: Through Dead Eyes
This charm creates a stronger bond than before between Qipoth and Abyssal. Both can reflexively sense distance and direction towards their soulmate, though if they are in different aspects of reality, it will instead point to the nearest entrance to that world. Second, the Abyssal can set up their Essence in "triggers" that will catch their attention if they occur around their Qipoth. Then with a reflexive non-charm activation, they can open their eyes to their second soul and perceive all that occurs around their Qipoth as if there themselves, and this is not Obvious to the Qipoth. Furthermore, they can speak to their Qipoth, even using charms to affect them socially. The danger to this charm is that it is a two way street, an equal partnership. While the Abyssal strengthens the bond, they can not prevent the Qipoth from using the same link to spy on their lives as they might on the Qipoth. Watching through the others' eyes is in no way distracting from the senses of the world around the Abyssal or Qipoth themselves.
