Distant Savannah

  • Further and further to the West of Chiaroscuro, once eventually reaches the Black River Basin,-- a slow moving river that flows in from the burning wastes--
    • The Rafters are perhaps best known, though they stay far away from the Basin itself, finding the cursed swampland at the Mouth of their River to be... unclean..
    • None the less, there are a few small tribes that exist in the meager swampland-- collecting various herbs that grow nowhere else,-- living a simple existence on the margins of a cursed land.
    • The River's Mouth itself was swallowed up in a Shadowland not long after the Great Contagion, which wiped away every living soul in the Black City.
  • Gradually, as you get further and further south, the Savannah dies away... the Sea of Swaying Grass giving way to harsh scrublands, then blasted badlands, until eventually one finds oneself in the Burning Sands.
    • the Delzahn pushed the Obsidian Raiders out to these lands long ago, and the bulk of these folk still live out in these harsh lands, though they've been pushing in more and more ever year.
    • The Last City, Glorious and Eternal Tharth, is tucked away in some of the harshest terrain known to land and survives only by the whim of the Jinn.
